Walter M. Crabb, Galena, departed this life Saturday, November 21, 1998 in Ozark Mountain Health Care Center, Crane, at the age of 90 years, seven months, 21 days. He was the son of Adam and Eliza (Fain) Crabb, born March 30, 1908 in Stone County, Mo. Walter was united in marriage on March 22, 1930 to Lenna Pauline Ellis, who preceded him in death. He was a retired owner/operator of Cross Roads Store and had been a lifelong resident of the Galena area. Survivors include: his wife, Irene (Matherly) Crabb; three sons Bill Crabb of Galena, Eddie Crabb of Springfield and Jack Crabb of Overland Park Kan; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his wife Lenna, a daughter, Norma Lee Crabb; four brothers, Ray, Clayton, Paul and George; two sisters, Ruth and Elsie and two half sisters Bess and Maude. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 1998 in Cross Roads Church with Clovis Cook officiating. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery under the direction of Manlove Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 3050 S. National Ste. 226, Springfield, Mo. 65804.
