Green was born in Indiana and employed as a (shack?) dealer. Mr. Martin was a laborer. This census says both of his parents born in Kentucky. NOTE: Green T. ~ born 1844.

DEATH OF COL. BERRY

Short Sketch of his Life

"Deceased was the father of nine children, all of who grew to the (e)state of manhood and womanhood. Two have died, each at the age of thirty-two years-his oldest son, who died at Red Wing, Minn., in 1807, and a daughter, the wife of Preston Huston at the time of her demise. Seven are living, as follows: Mrs. Isaac Miller and John A. Berry, a son and daughter, residing in Nodaway county, Mo.; Mrs. Frederick Baggs, whose home is in Carroll county, Mo.; *Green T. Berry, of PUEBLO, COL.; Mrs. William Campbell, of Blandinsville township; Dr. Robert A. Berry, of Bedford, Iowa, Miss Emma, resides at the homestead in Macomb.

2. In (1890?) George Berry (married?) Mary Devereaux, a woman 20 years younger. They lived together as husband and wife and had children, but no marriage record found so far. The 1900 census says they've been (married?) 10 years, so (1890?).

On 19 June 1900 George T. Berry (b. Mar. 1844), wife Mary (b. Apr. 1864), children; William A. (b. Jan. 1894), Emma (b. Apr. 1899) and George's step-son, Elie Deveraux (b. Nov. 1882) lived in *Pueblo County, Colorado. Census shows George and Mary had been married 10 years. She had given birth to 3 children, 3 living. George was a farmer. Elie was a farm laborer. NOTE: George ~ born 1844 in Indiana. His parents born in Kentucky and Tennessee.

On 23-25 April 1910 George Berry (67), wife Mary (47), children; William (16), Emma (11) and Myrtle (7) lived on Sacramento Street, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. George and Mary had been married 18 years, having 4 children, 3 living. George was a foreman, steel worker. William was a blacksmith helper in a blacksmith shop. NOTE: This census says George was born in Illinois and parents in the U.S.

On 27 January 1920 George T. Berry (75), wife Mary (55), children; William A. (26), Myrtle (17) and brother-in-law, Edward J. Downing (36) lived on Jennings Avenue in Jennings Lodge Precinct, Clackamas County, Oregon. William and Edward were laborers, working at paper mills. Myrtle was a laborer at a woolen mill. NOTE: This census says George was born in Illinois. His parents born in Kentucky and Tennessee. He would be 76 in March ~ born 1844.

CHEHALIS - Wash., March 27 -(Special)- Rev. G. R. Leining of Vader officiated at the funeral which was held at Catermole's, Winlock, for George T. Berry, an early resident of Vader, who died Monday. Mr. Berry was *73 years of age. Burial was in Winlock cemetery.
NOTE: Age 83 per death record.
