Mrs. Hendrix was a 1942 graduate of Columbia High School. She worked and retired from SCE&G after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Columbia Women's Career Council and also a member of the Food Retailers of SC Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving is her only child and daughter who was also her best friend, Jan and her son in law, Bobby Sharpe of Lake Murray; grandsons, Robby Sharpe of Lexington, Chad and wife, Nora Sharpe of Gilbert; and one Granddaughter, Tosha Sharpe Frye of Lexington; 6 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, James William "JW" Hendrix. She was also preceded in death by her one sister, Gertie Lee Goodwin Elvington, 6 brothers, Theron, George "Duffy", Ed, Woodrow, Orester and Dalton Goodwin. A thank you to Gary Taylor for being a friend and all the special help to mom, Ms. Berdie.
The family will greet family and friends at Mt. Hebron Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Leaphart Rd in West Columbia from 11-12 on Monday, January 19th.
