Robert J. Hamm Sr.
Robert James Hamm Sr, 76, died Friday at Todd-Aikens Healthcare Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born June 22, 1918, in Escanaba, Mich. His parents were Edgar Hamm and Jessie (Pulley) Hamm. He married Dorothy Thomas Sept. 29, 1942. She preceded him in death….
He was a graduate of Escanaba High School and attended the University of Chicago.
He was a Franklin Community School Corporation bus driver for many years. He also had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service at Southport for many years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 39 in Indianapolis, VFW Phillips Highbaugh Post 9843 in Indianapolis, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Indiana University Alumni Association, and St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Franklin, where he served as usher and member of the Men's Club, Men's Breakfast Group and Vestry Committee.
He was a World War II veteran.
….Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
