Max Eldon Thielbar, of Lincoln, Nebraska was reunited with his loving wife Doris on Friday, May 23, 2014, at the age of 86. Max was born in Danbury, Nebraska (God's Country), on April 24, 1928, to Guy and Della (Remington) Thielbar. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1945. He proudly served in the United States Navy onboard the USS SALMONIE from 1948-1952, and then worked for various farmers in southwest Nebraska.

On November 28, 1954 he married Doris Tompkins in Shenandoah, Iowa. Max and Doris made their home in Lincoln where he worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads for 40 years. Following retirement, he enjoyed being a bus tour guide and serving as a Red Coat Volunteer at the Lincoln Airport. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, College View Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, and was an honorary Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.

Max is survived by daughter, Lisa Koziol and Greg Dana of Lincoln, son, Les and Lory Thielbar, and grandsons, Zachary and Joshua all of Roselle, Ill., brother Melvin Thielbar and wife Carlotta of McCook, sister Joyce Price of Norcatur, Kan., and many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his wife Doris, Max was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Iris Smith, and nephew, Larry Thielbar.
