Marilyn Moletta Hensley, 72, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Ms. Hensley was born April 5, 1942 in Yancey County to the late Arnold Macon Penland and Vergie Matilda Penland. She was married to Dean Hensley who preceded her in death in 1999.
Ms. Hensley was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church. She was a Christian lady who loved people. She was known for her selfless service and was a very giving person. She loved the Lord and her family. Ms. Hensley and her family owned and operated Little Buck's Grill for over 30 years in Marion. At the time of her death she was employed at Walmart as a Door Greeter.
Ms. Hensley is survived by her son, Jimmy Hensley of Marion; three brothers, Calvin Penland, Roscoe Penland both of Marion, Jerry Penland of Glenwood; one sister, Kathy Penland of Burnsville; three aunts, Kammalie Robinson, Lena Metcalf, both of Burnsville, Evelyn Hensley of Marshall; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Catawba Heights Baptist Church. Burial followed in McDowell Memorial Park.
