Glenn was born in Overton, Texas on April 22, 1919, son of the late Robert Marion and Daisy Bell Barton.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. Mr. Barton was a member of Calvary Way Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Glenn was retired from Kilgore Independent School District. His family remembers him as a great family man who enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. He was a collector of many things, enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and was a great cook.
Mr. Barton is survived by his children, Reverend Glenn Douglas Barton and wife Wilma, Sherlene Lewis and husband Reverend Nolan, Larry Barton and wife Sheri, Pamela Allen and husband Jess and Joel Barton; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lillie Barton.
