He was a graduate of Coe College, Cedar Rapids,Iowa,and had been working on his master's degree in guidance and counseling at Western Illinois University.
He was employed by the State of Iowa, Department of Human Services. He had also worked for the Handicapped Development Center,Caterpillar and the Rock Island Railroad.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church,Past member and past president of the Davenport Dog Obedience Club,past member of Scott County and TriCounty kennel clubs and a past member of Lakeshore-Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club.He received the Gaines Company Medal of Sportsmanship.
He was active in the raising, breeding and showing of German Sheperd and Pembroke Welsh Corgi dogs.He enjoyed computers,photography,inventing things and doing carpentry work.
He was a Navy veteran, and had been active in the Naval Reserves.
William was the third child, of twelve siblings ,and he always let people know that.He was very proud of his family. His most cherished treasures were his wife Nancy and their 3 beautiful children, Jenny, Amy & Adam. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother and Friend. His humor, laughter and smile have been missed by all.
William found peace on Sunday Aug.11,1996, After a courageous battle with cancer.He died in the comfort of his home,surrounded by the people who loved him. He was 55 years old.
