Memorial cenotaphs in Ward-Lewis Cemetery for Elzia and Elizabeth, overlooking their homesite and farm (historically), and for their sons, Thomas and Elijah, who died in the Civil War.

"Elza Arterburne" in the 1850 Monroe County Census has been mistranscribed by Ancestry/FamilySearch as "Eliza Asterburne". Note the distinct difference in penmanship of the census-taker between "Elza" (lz) and "Eliza" and "Elizabeth" (liz).

Entrance (private) from Hwy 249 to the Arterburn farm (1834-1906) and the homesite, east of Bethel Branch, of Elzia and Elizabeth and Martha. Bethel Church (36.7306693, -85.8823606) stood this side (west) of the Branch and left of this entrance road.

Elzia and Elizabeth co-founded the Methodist Class (1847) that grew into Bethel Methodist Episcopal Church and donated land (1857) on their farm for the meeting house. This decanter was used by Bethel Methodists for Communion.

Elzia's 175-acre home farm (1834) and Patton's 50-acre farm (1868) were located in the northeast corner of the "Reid and Pearson" military survey (1797), where Daniel Boone walked to measure and mark the boundary line.
