Kaitlin Patricia-Mai Barnes, 6-month-old daughter of George Michael and Kimberly Mai Porter Barnes of 36 Mack Ave., died Saturday evening in Akron Children’s Hospital.

She had been ill since her birth Oct. 9, 1990.

Besides her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents Darrell and Marsha Edwards Porter of Shelby; maternal great-grandparents Stephan and Vera Kovatch of Holmesville and Jean Edwards of Shelby; paternal grandparents Thomas and Patricia Francis Gleason of Fort Myers, FL; and paternal great-grandparents Horace and Cookie Francis of South Venice, FL, and Ethel Barnes of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Frederick Barnes, and her maternal great-grandparents, Dewey and Ruth Porter and Ross Edwards.

Private funeral services will be held this afternoon in Turner Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Akron Children’s Hospital and left at the funeral home.
