Carolyn Virginia Perry McClure, 81, of St. Albans peacefully passed away Feb. 21, 2006, after a decade-long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Her devoted husband, L.J. "Jack" McClure Sr.; her sisters, Madelyn James and Mary Kuhn; her brother, James Perry; and her beloved grandson, Jason Hedrick, preceded her in death. She was born and raised in Falling Rock and was valedictorian of her class (1941) at Clendenin High School. Her entire adult life was spent in St. Albans and especially as an active member of St. Albans First Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Embees in Charleston and the Piece Goods Shop in Charleston and St. Albans. Surviving: daughters, Anna (Jerry) Hedrick of Eleanor, Dr. Lisa J. McClure of Carbondale, Ill., Marie Phillips (Nelson Whitt) of Chesapeake, Ohio; and her son, L.J. "Jack" (Patti) McClure Jr. of St. Albans; grandchildren, Wendy (Jack) Garrison and Rob (Holly) Woods, both of Eleanor, Jerry Hedrick II of Red House, Lynn (Jeff) Minton of Harrisburg, N.C., Katy McClure (Michael O'Toole) of Verona, N.J., Jenny (Scott) Luty of Charles Town, Kari (Paul) Calvert of Elkins, Marci (Sam) Osburn of Huntington and Terry (Christina) Phillips II of Lavalette; great-grandchildren are Christopher, Gabriel, Malachi, Amelia, Noel, CJ, Hanna, Cody, Mason, Alexis, Caelan, Jordyn, Jessica and Joelle; niece, Janie Sue James of St. Albans; nephews, Burt Kuhn and Mike Kuhn of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters-in-law and their families, Betty Ashworth and Faye Turley of Winfield, Mary Jane Arvidson of Brownsville, Vt., Frances McClure and Ruth Blaine of St. Albans and Viola McClure of Seven Lakes, N.C.
