He was born in Langdondale on August 29, 1921, a son of Percy and Louise (Arcq) Chaney. On May 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Jacob, who surivors along with his mother, Mrs. Louise Chaney Adams of Huntingdon, and one daughter, Elizabeth Louise Curtis, at home.
The following sisters survive: Mrs. Frank (Louise) Pryor, Springfield; Mrs. James (Darlene) Horton, Wood and Mrs. Don (Gloria) Steel of Huntingdon. Also surviving are a step-brother, Robert Adams of Dunkirk, Ind, and a step-sister, Mrs. Gynell Carbaugh of York. Four brothers preceded him in death.
The deceased was a member of the Church of God, Robertsdale. He was a veteran of Word War II, and belonged to the Standing Stone Post No. 1754, VFW and to Frank P. Hormmon Post 24, American Legion at Huntingdon. He was a member of L.O.O.M. Lodge No. 223, Huntingdon. Chaney had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers out of its State College office, retiring due to disability seven years ago.
Funeral services will held Saturday, December 2, at 10:30 a.m from the Peters funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. C. Rayvon Hilliard will officiate and the Rev. John Settle will conduct the graveside service. Interment will be made in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock Friday evening and on Saturday until the hour of the services.
