Cyril J. McNary, 79, of 635 N. 64th, Quincy, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 3, 2010) in Blessing Hospital. Born March 20, 1930, in Pike County, Cyril was the son of Charles and Loretta Pfeiffer McNary. He married Maude L. Dolbeare on Dec. 5, 1950 in Hannibal, Mo. She survives. Mr. McNary was of the Methodist faith. An avid fisherman, Cyril also enjoyed gardening and going to tractor pulls and loved the time he spent with his family. Mr. McNary served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. McNary was a truck driver for Ford Tractor Company and later at Titan Wheel for many years until his retirement in 2000. Mr. McNary was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Craig Hogan; three brothers, Cletus McNary, Hugh McNary and Alto McNary, and an infant sister, Dorothea McNary. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy with the Rev. Robert Morwell conducting. Burial with military honors by Pittsfield American Legion Post No. 152 will be in the Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
