Donald Eugene Moon, 88, of Marion, Indiana died January 11, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Moon was born September 26, 1926 in Elwood, Indiana to the late John and Lula Ann Moon. He was a proud Korean War veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from November 30, 1951 to November 5, 1953 as a corporal. He was also a member of the International Carpenters Union Local 615 and was instrumental in starting the Marion chapter.
He is preceded in death by his late wife of 52 years, Betty Ellen Moon, as well as his brothers, Herschel, Wayne, Gerry, and Edward; sister, Margie, and his half-sisters, Larabelle, Rosemary and Evelyn.
Mr. Moon is survived by his brothers, Hobby, John and Carl; sisters, Susie and Becky; son, Gerald (Betty) Moon; daughter, Margie Hahn; four grandchildren, Angelica Moon, Amber Zeis, Travis Brink and Shana Roberson as well as seven great grandchildren, Liliana Moon, Alexandria Robertson, Brinley and Greyson Zeis and Zachary, Melanie and Ayla Roberson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington, St., Marion, IN 46953, with Charles R. Moon officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory
