Norman fell while crossing the log over Big Mallard Creek. His body was recovered downriver at Campbell's Ferry and buried by moonlight, along the trail from the pack bridge.

His mother, Reho, planted bearded iris along the creek where he was last seen.

His body was discovered on July 19, 1945. By Emmett Davis in an Eddy below Campbell's Ferry. Residence at the Ferry retrieved it, and Frances Zaunmiller and others buried the boy. He was the son of George and Reho Wolfe.

His grave is hidden among the pines at Campbell's Ferry, located on the old ferry trail upstream from the Campbell's Ferry Bridge. It is nestled between 2 pine trees, approx 200 yards north of the old cabins
