A retired employee of the West Baton Rouge Parish Food Stamp Office with 20 years of service, she died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 82 and a native of Walls. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Paul Counts. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge. Survived by a daughter, Leonida Altazan Brown and husband Terry of Colfax; two sons, C.A. Altazan and wife Theresa LaRussa, and James O. "Jimmy" Altazan, all of Port Allen; seven grandchildren, Ann-Elizabeth Brown, Richie Peavy, Stacey Peavy Dominque and husband Brock, Blake Altazan, Amanda, Sarah and Clayton Altazan; and four great-grandchildren, Aaron and Annemarie Peavy, London Stucky and Kailynn LeBlanc. Preceded in death by her husband, Clayton A. Altazan Sr.; a brother, A.O. St. Dizier Sr., who was of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Burnis Major, who was of New Roads. Pallbearers will be Blake Altazan, Richie Peavy, Clayton Altazan, Cleveland LeBlanc, Barney "Frog" Altazan and Stephen Chustz. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Port Allen, Holy Family Altar Society and Port Allen Family and Community Education Club. Memorial donations may be made to Santa's Helpers, P.O.
