Evelyn Marie Leathers, 85, formerly of Yuma, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born March 30, 1929 in Bird City, Kansas to Charles and Sylvia (Kylander) Fisher.

Evelyn and Neel were married May 22, 1949 in Bird City, Kansas. Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church for a combined 50 years, in the towns of Bird City, Kansas, Holyoke, and Yuma. She was also a member of the Rotary Club, the Red Cross, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed playing golf and collecting antiques. At one time Evelyn owned an antique store in Yuma called My Corner.

Survivors include her children, Corliss Pappas and husband, Mike, Coniss Lanckriet and husband, Larry, Candiss Leathers and husband, Jack Millenbach, grandchildren, Michelle Hubbard and husband Jeff, Justin Pappas and wife Cindy, Jason Pappas, Anne Spry and husband Jared, Cassandra Hornecker and husband Rob, Jeff Lanckriet and fiancée Natasha McClure, and Jacob Neel Millenbach, great grandchildren, Ty and Tristan Hubbard, Mackenzie and Keegan Pappas, Kael and Kai Spry, Katie Varelman and husband Travis, and Kaleb Oster, great-great grandchildren, Hunter Blake Varelman, and Haedyn Varelman, her brother, Royce Fisher and his wife Donna, and their children, Doug, Chuck, and Mike Fisher, and her sister-in-law Nova Mullins and children.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Neel, and her parents.

There will be a visitation Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 2:30 until 4:30 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Graveside Funeral Services will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 12:00 noon Central Time at the Bird City Cemetery in Bird City, Kansas.
