Married to Grace Martha Mills Danzl. Went to Lamoine, Wa. School and Withrow, Wa. School. Enlisted in the Marine Coprs on March 6, 1936. Married Grace Mills on October 21, 1940 at Okanogan, Wash. Murph lived on a farm in the Methow Valley before moving to Seattle Washington in 1955. He drove truck for Los Angeles-Seattle Motor Express (LASME). During the late 1970's and all through the 1980's, he drove wheat truck during harvest for Nelson Farms of Lamoine, Wash. Cause of death was cancer.

He is buried in the Garden of Psalms, Lot 1509, Space #5.
