James Ralph "J.R." Brogdon - 88

Of Valdosta, GA passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1926 to the late Randall and Lessie (Hendley) Brogdon in Nashville, GA. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Valdosta Fire Department after 36 years of service. He and his wife served as the Co-Pastor of Calvary Temple Church on Bemiss Road for over 25 years. Mr. Brogdon served in the United States Army during World War II. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters: Gladys Bennett, Mamie White, Joy White and Hazel Plair.

Survivors Include: Wife of 65 years, Pastor Wonnie Brogdon Valdosta, GA; 2 Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Tim & Margaret Brogdon Valdosta, GA, Randy & Kellie Brogdon Valdosta, GA; 4 Grandchildren: Jarrod Brogdon (Deserea), Amy Draper (Sean), Maranda Douglas (Matthew), and Ben Brogdon (Nikki Bryant); 6 Great Grandchildren: Gavin & Braxton Draper, Victoria Fiveash, Kaedyn Fiveash, Taylor & Ella Douglas; Brother, Billy Brogdon, Lakeland, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in Southside Baptist Church, Lakeland, GA with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery. Mr. Brogdon will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday night, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
