He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Arthur and his brother, J. D. Arthur.
And the Lord said unto him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
He is survived by his son, Tommy Arthur, Cleveland, TN; grandson, Dr. Scott Arthur and his wife, Sally, of Brentwood, TN, granddaughter, Kellye and her husband, Todd Renker; great grandchildren, Jamison and Will Arthur and T. J. and Katie Renker. His loving church family and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of A. J. Arthur was held at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Drew Henry and Rev. Tim Bracken officiating. Special music provided by Karen Dale. Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
