Name: Mrs Sarah J Carroll
Death Date: 1934
County of Death: Jacksonville
State of Death: Florida
Race: White
Gender: Female.

Sarah White in the U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007.
Name: Sarah White
Gender: Female
Spouse: Jim Carroll
Child: Thomas Archibald Carroll.

12-9-2022: Sarah Jane White was my (Bennie White's) great aunt. The birth date on her death certificate is in error. Her first child was born in 1873. Her parents' names are also wrong. She was one of six children born to Thomas Dickson White (died in Civil War) and Elizabeth Mitcham. Sarah, her mother, and her five siblings (my grandfather, Thomas Deedie White, was one) left Clarke Co., AL before 1870 and traveled to Clarke Co., MS (see 1870 census). My paternal grandmother White said Sarah left Clarke Co., MS with a group of gypsies who were passing through (sometime after 1870). She was never heard from again until about 1920's or 1930's when her son Thomas Archibald Carroll visited here (Clarke Co., MS). He had apparently found out somehow that his mother was from Clarke Co., MS. Sarah's name appears with husband, James S. Carroll, and children on the 1880 census, Nassau Co., FL. It appears her husband died (or they separated) before 1910. The 1910 census lists her as divorced. As of this date, I have been unable to find her on the 1900 census, but I'm still searching. She is found on the 1910, 1920, & 1930 census in Florida.
