Born in Terra Alta, West Virginia he enlisted in the military at a young age, piloting a B17 in World War II and achieving the rank of Captain. For his service he was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart, among various other decorations. He also served in the Korean War. Upon coming to Taft he worked in the oil fields for many years. He was a hardworking man who never stayed idle. He was always active within the community and a longtime member of the Moose Lodge. He was an incredible musician and loved to play Bass, Fiddle, and always a cowboy hat. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved his many pets, especially his dogs. He leaves behind a long list of loving family and a lot of great friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Marian, whom he loved very much.
