Janette J. Watson Switzer, age 72 of Maryville, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born July 26, 1942, in Alton, Missouri to the late Corwin Elvin and Helen (Wright) Watson. Janette was a 1959 graduate of Alton High School. After graduating she went on to Alvarieta School of Cosmetology. Janette loved playing bingo and attending the casino. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Switzer; a son, Joseph Van Crabtree and a brother, Amos Watson.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Crabtree and his significant other, Dawn Aredley of Granite City, IL and James Allen and Kris Crabtree of Troy, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Watson of Wilsonville, MO; a sister, Jane Huddleston of Hardy, AR; her first husband, Jim Crabtree of Bolivar, MO, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home 2800 North Center Street Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the Smyrna Baptist Church in Alton, MO, with the Reverend Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow at the Smyrna Cemetery in Alton, MO, under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
