David Whedon - Tiplady
died 2 Dec 1801 in his 72nd year, married to Zillah Whedon, daughter Polly married Nathan Smith of Hebron, one of first settlers of Hebron, patient 3 May 1765 - 150 acres, son David first child born in town 1771, signed application to elect representatives to Colonial Assembly Jan 1775.

Information porvided by John KomarDavid was the son of Nathaniel and Rhonda(Wheeler) Whedon. He was born in Aug. 1731 in Branford, New Haven, CT. He died in Hebron in Dec. 1801. He married Zillah Shelley, 25 Nov. 1759 in Branford. She was born there in Oct 1739 to Samuel and Sarah (Hitt)Shelley. She died in Hebron July 1807. They had nine children, the first 2 at least born in Branford and later ones born in Hebran - Edmund, Ansel, David (DY), Sarah/Sally, David D., possibly James, Loanna (DY) and Lorene twins, and Polly.
"Washington County, It's History"---Wm L. Stone, pg 466 states "The first settlement was made in Hebron about 1769-1770 by David Whedon, John Hamilton and Robert Creighton. David Whedon's son David Jr. was the first child born in Hebron in 1771.
