Cecelia Bade was born in Ohio on January 26, 1908. She was the daughter of Joseph Bade and Ann DeTemple. She grew up in Cleveland and it was there that she was married to John Ahern on December 24, 1932. Prior to her marriage she had worked as a stenographer for an insurance company.
Cecelia and John moved from Cleveland to Chicago, where their three children were born. On April 17, 1974, Cecelia died at a nursing home in Deerfield, Illinois, near Chicago. Funeral services were held at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, with interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Cecelia was survived by her daughter and a son; four grandchildren; also, four sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John, who died in 1954; and three brothers, John, James and Adelbert.
