Constance M. DeLawter, age 65 of Elwood, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton after an extended illness. She was born May 27, 1949 in Elwood, the daughter of Ralph and Joreen (McCorkle) DeLawter. Connie retired in 2010 after working for many years as a Nurse’s Aide at both Dickey Nursing Home and Parkview Nursing Home in Elwood. She was a 1967 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and a member of Main Street Wesleyan Church in Elwood. Connie enjoyed shopping and especially enjoyed spending family time with her niece and nephew.

Connie’s family includes her brother, Robert (wife Janice) DeLawter of Gas City; niece, Lindsay DeLawter of Seattle WA; nephew, Christopher DeLawter of Muncie; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service celebrating Connie’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ron Becker officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 PM prior to the funeral service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. I
