Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Shepherd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Spachman officiating. Burial will be in Salt River Cemetery.
Mr. Hoover was born March 12, 1947, in Reed City to L.C. and Barbara (Weaver) Hoover.
He graduated from Shepherd High School in 1965. He was a member of the DeWitt Moose Lodge. He was employed by Oldsmobile in Lansing for the past 30 years.
He is survived by a son, Doug (Nicole) Hoover of Holland; two daughters, Debra Hoover of Gaylord and Dina Hoover of Grand Ledge; his mother, Barbara Hoover of Shepherd; two sisters, Patricia (Joe) Vance of Charlotte, and Phyllis (Ken) Ervin of St. Johns; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and by an infant daughter, Jennifer.
