Mr. Anderson was born March 6, 1931, at Burneyville, the son of Floyd B. and Nona Beaird Anderson. He died Wednesday, December 26, 2001, at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore.
Mr. Anderson had lived in Love County all of his life. He and Pearlene Simmons were married October 13, 1962, in Marietta, and she preceded him in death on August 24, 1997. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army from September 1952 to June 1954. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1957 and served until March 1961 as a personnel clerk. Mr. Anderson attended training classes through the University of Oklahoma for his supervisory position at Georgia Pacific Roofing from which he retired after 34 years. Mr. Anderson was a charter member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marietta.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jr. and Carla Anderson; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Jeanette Gaines; two daughters, Judy Bias and Diana Anderson Burns; one grandson, four granddaughters, one step-grandson and five step-granddaughters.
Mr. Anderson was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Cleophus Anderson.
Interment was in Dunbar Cemetery in Burneyville, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
