Elsie E. Wozniak Aug. 23, 1921 - Jan. 6, 2015 MISHAWAKA - Elsie Elizabeth Adams Van De Putte Wozniak, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Elsie was born on August 23, 1921, to Valerie and Cyriel Adams, who emigrated from Belgium. They married and had two sons and two daughters. Elsie had a sister, Elodie, who died in infancy, a brother, Albert, who was killed in Africa during World War II, another brother, Firmin, passed away January 26, 2012. Elsie married Andrew "Andy" Van De Putte, who was the love of her life. They had a son, Larry. At the age of 35, Andy passed away and Larry was only five years old. Elsie had to find work to raise her son. She worked at Dodge Manufacturing Corp. for 25 years. Larry passed away September 3, 2009. Elsie was so heart-broken! Elsie was a kind and caring person. She would always send a card to someone, even if it was a Thank You, Get Well, Birthday, or any occasion - she made sure she sent them. She took pride in her appearance. Elsie was "A very classy lady!" She had a loving spirit. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Vernelle Adams, and a cousin, Helen Bennett. Also, she leaves Ted and Velma Zieke, a big Thank You for being such great neighbors. Always a phone call every day to see how she was. Also Elsie leaves her very special friend, Lenda Dowdy, who for the last several years took excellent care of her. Her last words to her I love you and God Bless you! Elsie was a sister, mother, daughter and friend. Elsie will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace with your loved one, once again. God Bless you! A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Friday, January 9, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with the final arrangements. It was Elsie's request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
