Vernie Bennett, 93, widow of Herman Bennett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Birtie and Dennie Estes. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Victory Christian Church, where she was active in the quilters group. She loved sewing, cooking, walking and being with her grandchildren. She leaves behind her children, Carolyn Oaks, Patty Stephenson, Don Bennett (Peggy), Jerry Bennett, Sheila Fleischer (David), Debbie Carpenter and Jeff Bennett (Jaime), as well as 15 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 29 Great Great Grandchildren. Also included are many nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved her. Funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at Kerr Bros. Main St. with burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass in her memory.
