Died.
Martin, - of old age, at his home three miles east of this city, Friday morning March 24th, 1893, John F. Martin, aged 87 years, 9 months and 16 days.
The deceased was born in Breckinridge county, Kentucky, June 8th, 1805; settled in Illinois in 1830; served in the Black Hawk Indian war in 1832; was married to Miss Sarah Wilson in 1833; removed to Iowa in 1859 and to Kansas in 1866, first to Franklin county and in 1885 to Greenwood county where he resided until death. He leaves his wife who has been his companion for 60 years, and married sons to mourn his loss. The sympathy of all is with the bereaved ones.
Funeral services were held at his home Saturday after which the remains were interred in Twin Groves cemetery.
