Jane was a daughter of Claude Perry Draper & Pennie Reese Lassiter. She married William Croman Martin 22 Sep 1951 in Emporia, Greensville Co., VA. They were the parents of 1 son: William Daniel. She married 2nd Floyd Edward Powers and they were the parents of 2 sons: Wilson Edward & James.

CONWAY — Jane Spencer Draper Powers, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.

She was a native of Northampton County and resided in Murfreesboro on Darlene Street for many years. She was a loving, caring mother and homemaker for her family. A member of the Christian Center in Murfreesboro, she had previously played with the Carolina Sweethearts – a local band that played popular music during the 1960s and 70s. She loved the Nashville Grand Ole Opry and lived a happy life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Powers; and parents, Claud Draper and Pennie R. Draper.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Martin and wife, Jean, from Milwaukee, Wilson Powers and Kim of Chicago and James Powers and wife, Patricia, of Conway; six grandchildren, Magen Powers, Tanner Powers, Sydney Powers, Amanda Lefon, Brian Martin and Daniel Martin; two stepgrandsons, Brian Massey and Paul Massey; one great-grandson, Roman Martin; and two sisters, Emma Lucy Taylor of Gaston and Bonnie Peffer of Henderson.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 8 at Bridgers Funeral Home Inc., 605 West Main St. in Conway, which is handling the arrangements.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro, with the Rev. Willie McLawhorn presiding.
