Brenda Ester Gyr, 87, a resident of Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, Fond du Lac, passed away April 17, 2011, at the Center. She was born April 22, 1923, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Hans and Lena Switzer Gyr. Brenda was employed for many years as a food nutritionist at Evans School in Fond du Lac. She also worked in the health care profession as a caregiver. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Letourneau of Fond du Lac and Sandra (Robert) Treptow of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Roland (Dorothy) Gyr of Fond du Lac and Leonard Gyr of North du Lac: a brother-in-law Robert Johnson of West Bend; numerous grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Elaine Johnson, Alice Ziebell, Helen Immel, Martha Stevens and Edna Osier; two brothers, Hans "Sonny" Gyr and Gene Gyr; and one grandson, Jeffrey Treptow. Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, Wis. Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald W Schrankler will officiate.
