Theresa C. Mauer, age 80, of Stacyville, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Friends may greet the family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.

Theresa was born April 30, 1934, at Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Clara (Thome) Adams. She graduated from Visitation Catholic High School in 1951. On August 29, 1953, Theresa married Dale B. Mauer at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. They lived in the Stacyville area where they raised their family of ten. Theresa was a member of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters and the Stacyville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening and collecting angels. Theresa had a love for all children, with a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a woman of strong faith.

Theresa is survived by her nine children, Steve (Sandy) Mauer of Loveland, Colorado, Patricia (Craig) Farlinger of West Liberty, Stanley Mauer of Little Cedar, Wayne (Vickie) Mauer of Pacific Junction, Peg Mauer of Stacyville, Lisa (Carl) Farlinger of Mesa, Arizona, Michelle (Paul) Halbach of Stacyville, Pam (Jim) Brincks of Mason City, and Shawn (Tammy) Mauer of Riceville; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Walk and Veronica (Kenneth) Koenigs, all of Stacyville; brother, Ted (Carol) Adams of Rochester, Minnesota; and sister-in-law, Joan Adams of Stacyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Mauer in 2013; daughter, Gerianne Mullenbach and son-in-law, Lee Mullenbach; grandson, Lucas Farlinger; and brothers, Walter Adams and Eugene Adams.
