MARGARET S. GARDNER
Margaret S. Gardner, 88, died today at the Waldron Health Care Center.
Mrs. Gardner, a lifetime Shelby and Rush County resident, had owned and operated the Snack Shop. She was a Morristown High School graduate, and had attended the West Street United Methodist Church where she was a member of the women's circle. She was also a member of the Priscilla Club, Morristown.
A daughter of Lindley and Cora (Swain) Pitts, she was born Jan. 2, 1901 in Shelby County. She was married Nov. 29, 1922 to Lon Gardner, who preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1974.
Surviving are sons: Jim Gardner and Keith Gardner, both Shelbyville, and Jerry Gardner, Boggstown.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Carmony officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
