1966 Sep 27 Tue Shelbyville Councilman Marion C. Anderson, 50, 211 Colescott street, a Republican member of the City Council since January 1, 1964, died at 8:00 a.m. today at Major Hospital. Mr. Anderson had been ill for the past year and in a serious condition for four months. A lifelong resident of Shelbyville, Councilman Anderson was employed with Allison Division of General Motors in Indianapolis for the past 16 years, prior to which he had been an employee for six years of the Shelby Oil Company here. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, in which he had held the position of moderator, deacon, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and was a member of the church choir and Boy Scout committee. Born in Shelbyville on October 3, 1915, he was the son of Bertie and Bernice (Bennett) Anderson. On June 23, 1940, he married Laura Frances Hart. Surviving with the widow and his mother here are three children, Mrs. James (Sandra) Staker of Long Acres, Miss Betty Sue Anderson of Indianapolis, and Pfc. Duane W. Anderson stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Wray (Pauline) Holbrook of R.R. 1, Waldron. A brother, Otto Anderson, preceded in death in January, 1964. Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jack E, Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sleeth Funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 2:00 until 5:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday until 11:00.
