Gertrude Young passed away in the Wesley Center of the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

She was the daughter of Parker Harris and Arabella (Ritchie) Agnew. She married Joseph Steele Young, Jr. on June 25, 1903 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1958.

She had two sons, Richard Steele and Donald Agnew Young; and a daughter, who passed away as an infant.

Note: Gertrude's first cousin, Dr. David Hayes Agnew, was the chief attending physician, of President James A. Garfield, after the president was shot.
