Funeral services for Dr. William Ellis Bennion Jr., 46, 4550 Suncrest Dr. (1960 East), Sugar House dentist, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Holladay Eleventh Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dr. Bennion died Sunday at [photo] 9:40 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital after a lingering illness. HE HAD attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University and was graduated from the University of Southern California Dental School in 1945. DR. BENNION attended Jordan High School from 1930 to 1933, and was active in athletics. Active in the LDS Church until his illness, Dr. Bennion was a member of the Holladay Eleventh LDS Ward. He was born Aug. 23, 1914, at Bennion, a son of William Ellis and Effie Palmer Bennion. He married Blanche Butterworth June 17, 1954, in Elko, Nev.

SURVIVING ARE his widow, a daughter and son, Trudy and Karl; seven step-children Mrs. Val D. (Karma) Hickman, Michael Miles, Byron Miller, Sharon Miller, Sandra Miller, Randy Miller, all of Salt Lake City, and Dennis Miles of Medford, Mass. ALSO surviving are nine grandchildren, his parents of West Jordan; seven brothers, Vernon P., Hermiston, Ore., Stanley P., Salt Lake City; Wayne, Cowley, Wyo.; Kenneth P. Ogden; Morris P. and Rex P., both West Jordan, and Paul P., Midvale. FRIENDS MAY call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 4330 S. Redwood Rd. and Wednesday one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
