Jeanne Hunley
May 7, 1929 – January 2, 2015
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Buell Funeral chapel for Jeanne L. (Daniels) Hunley of Springfield, who died January 2, 2015 from complications of Alzheimer's. She was 85 years old. Born in Portland, Maine and raised in Springfield, Ore., she graduated from Springfield High School in 1947 where she was in the marching band and pep club. She married Ralph "Jack" Hunley on Sept 11, 1949, and raised 3 daughters. Her hobbies included bowling, painting, all crafts including making porcelain dolls, camping and beach trips. She loved animals and in the last few years rescued a shelter cat who was her favorite companion. Jeanne was a huge fan of Oregon Ducks football, Eugene Emeralds baseball and the Portland Trail Blazers. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Oregon, Cascade Chapter #155, where she held many offices including Worthy Matron. Although the Alzheimer's took away much of her memory, Jeanne never forgot those closest to her. Survivors include daughters Karen Hunley (husband Willie Stephenson) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Lori Sanne (husband Randy Sr.) of North Bend, Oregon, and Michelle Thielke (husband Jeff) of Creswell, Oregon; grandsons Randy Jr., Trevor, Justin and Ryan Sanne and Jordan Thielke; and seven great grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank everyone for their support and kind words over the years. A special thank you to the caregivers that kept her happy and safe in her own home. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the Alzheimer's Association Oregon Chapter.
