Brigham City—Mrs. Matilda Wood Snodgrass, 78, a former Box Elder County school teacher, died at her home in Martinez, Calif., Friday after a short illness. She was born in Tooele Utah, 1874, a daughter of Wilhelmena Hessling and William Monteith, and was reared and educated in Utah schools. She was among the first graduates of the University of Utah. She taught school in Box Elder County for 13 years. She married John Frank Wood in September, 1904. He died in 1918. She later married James Patterson Snodgrass in March of 1921.
Surviving are her husband, three sons and daughters, Frank Adian Wood, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Lynn Barnard, Weston, Conn.; Mrs. W. H. Marsh Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; five step-children, Miss Ella Snodgrass, San Francisco; Mrs. Cyril Kimpton, Concord, Calif.; Clarence Snodgrass, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Alwin Rosslow, Ellis Snodgrass, Redwood City, Calif.; by seven grandchildren; and one sister, Miss Emma Groot**, Idaho Falls, Idaho. …
