DIES IN CABOOSE
STEVENS POINT, Wis Herbert Hamilton, 58, Fond du Lac, a Soo Line railroad freight conductor, died last night in the caboose of his train after the completion of his run from Fond du Lac to Stevens Point.

Herbert F. Hamilton, 59, Expires Short Time After Reaching Point
Herbert F. Hamilton, 59, Soo Line conductor, whose parents, the Iate John and Anna Hamilton, were pioneer residents of Fond du Lac, died on his train of a heart attack at 11:30 p.m. Monday, shortly after it's arrival in Stevens Point. He was apparently in good health when he left here yesterday morning on his run.
A lifelong resident of the city, Mr. Hamilton was born Dec. 08, 1886. He began his railroad career in 1902, when he became a call boy for the North Western railroad. In 1904, he entered the employ of the old Wisconsin Central as a yard clerk and four years later became a brakeman for the company. Hamilton was promoted to the rank of conductor in 1917. He was a member of Lodge 259, Order of railway Conductors. A member of St. Joseph's Church, Mr. Hamilton belonged to the Holy name society of the parish and also held membership in the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his widow, the former May Briggs of Eden, to whom he was married Jan. 20, 1913, in St. Joseph's Church by the late Rev. JJ Collins; a daughter, Mrs. Earl F McEssey, and a son, John F. Hamilton, both of this city; two grandsons, James and John McEssey, a brother, George Hamilton of Elgin, Ill.
The body will be removed Wednesday to the family residence, 361 Forest avenue, where services will be held at 8:30 A.M. Friday and 9:15 A.M. AT St. Joseph's church
