Mrs. K. Wagner of M. Heights Passed Away

Mrs. Kathryn Wagner, 73, wife of Joseph Wagner, member of the Marion Heights School Board, and mother of Justice of the Peace D. W. Wagner, also of Marion Heights, died of the infirmities of old age at the family home there at 10:10 o'clock this morning.

Ailing for a year, she had been bedfast for the last five months.

Mrs. Wagner was born in Millersburg, Pa., April 2, 1854. She spent her early life there, later moving to Valley View and then coming to Mount Carmel where she resided for 13 years before the family went to Marion Heights to make their home 1898. They were among the early settlers there.

During her residence at Marion Heights, members of the family became active in political circles. Her husband, a school director, and her son, a justice of the peace, having served efficiently for several terms.

Besides her husband and son, Justice of the Peace D.W. Wagner, she leaves five other children, Rufus, Carbondale; Charles and Mrs. Eugene Hartman, both of Danville; Joseph, Jr. and Mrs. George Jones, both of Marion Heights; one brother, Henry McClane and one sister, Mary McClane, both of Millersburg. Twenty-two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren are also included among the survivors.

The funeral will be held Monday. Services will be conducted at the family home on east North street, Marion Heights, by Rev. H.F. Shoaf, pastor of All Saint's Lutheran Church at Kulpmont, at two p.m. and burial, with James A. Dyke, local funeral director in charge will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
