Billy Frank Giddens, age 71 passed away September 19, 2014 in Daytona Beach, FL. Billy was born in Adel, GA to the late William F. and Chessie Giddens. He moved to the Daytona Beach area at age seven and eventually met and married his wife Mary "Ruth" of 38 years. Billy served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and worked for NASA as a quality control manager for 20 years. He enjoyed family get-togethers, fishing and relaxing in his arm chair. Billy and Mary "Ruth" enjoyed spending time and taking care of their dog, Kody
Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Giddens Tolliver.
Billy is survived by his wife, Mary "Ruth" Giddens, and their dog, Kody. Also left to cherish Billy's memory is his sister, Ann Belcher of Hawaii; two nieces, Nolene Dotson Pruitt and Dorene Dotson Elkins, both of Rome, GA; nephews: Nolan "Pender" Dotson of Woodstock, GA, Frankie Belcher of Hawaii, and Brian Belcher of Portland, OR.
A visitation will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday September 27, 2014, at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel, Georgia. The Giddens family will receive friends in Adel immediately before the graveside service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel.
