Julie is survived by her beloved life partner Tara Ann White; sons Benjamin Eric Suess (Reven) and Andrew Tyler Suess (Katie); granddaughters Isla Beggs Suess and Leila Papillon Suess; sisters Nicholas Cass (Henry Spencer), Liza Cass White (Stuart), Linda Cass Gilbert, Christopher Cass; "Other Mother" Lee Hogan Cass; brother Timothy Cass (Nenita); many nieces and nephews; and the family of Rufus Mason White of Brewton, Alabama (USA).
Julie was passionate in all aspects of her life. She was a devoted mother to her sons, a loving and supportive spouse, and a fabulous sister, daughter and friend. Her laughter and joy of life will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Julie devoted herself to many careers during her 66
years, ranging from homemaker, hospice worker, massage therapist, ordained minister with Metropolitan Community Church, and social justice advocate.
Julie was ordained in MCC in 1996 and retired from active MCC ministry in 2005, though she maintained a limited license to practice. She served the GLAD district as the assistant to District Coordinator Rev. Jay Neely; pastored congregations in Washington, Alabama, and Arizona; and served as a staff pastor at First MCC of Atlanta (Georgia, USA).
