Richard A. Cripe, 55, of Rt. 11, died Wednesday at Porter Memorial Hospital. Born in Walkerton Feb. 25. 1920, the son of Ray and Flossie (McAllister) Cripe, he married Lee Swider, who survives. A Valparaiso resident 10 years, coming from Gary, he was a supervisor at U.S. Steel and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Worship Committee and Chancel and Handbell Choirs. Walkerton Lodge 619 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. AANOMS Orak Temple, 4 H Council and was a Boy Scout leader. He served with the Air Force during World War II. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Curtis Sylvester officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday at Bartholomew Funeral Home, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. The family requests memorials be given to First United Methodist Church.
