A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Eugene's First Christian Church for Ruth Ellen Bascue of Eugene, who died April 23 of pancreatic cancer at age 82.
She was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Manteca, Calif., to Milton and Ethel Dana Bower. She married Raymond Bascue on Oct. 30, 1945, in Eugene.
She was a homemaker and worked at local nursing homes as a registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Roberta Morgan; four sons, Robert, Ronald, Richard and Roger; three sisters, Barbara Stearns, Eleanor Eaton and Phyllis Weare; a brother, George Bower; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
