Floyd Ryan Emerson, age 100, of Gates died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East of Memphis, TN.
Floyd was born January 29, 1914 in Watson, AR. He is the son of the late Willie James and the late Sarah Adella (Ryan) Emerson.
He married to his wife Aunita McNeill for 65 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran. Upon his discharge he farmed with his family. He also was a factory employee of Tupperware manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife: Aunita (McNeill) Emerson , one daughter: Kathy "Barry" Jordan of Arlington, TN and one son: Jimmy Emerson of Gates, TN; Brother of two sisters: Norma Summer of Ripley, TN, Louise Roffino of Garland, TX and two brothers: John C Emerson of Gates, TN, Sam B Emerson of Vermont;
He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his sister, Elvie Marcum, Son, Roger Dale Emerson, brother, James Emerson, brother, Woodrow Emerson, brother, Freddie Emerson.
Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Gates on Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 am.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 26 from 5-8 pm at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN.
