A native of Amity, Arkansas, he had lived in Buna forty three years and was retired from Temple-Inland in Evadale.
He was survived by his wife, Agnes Ashley; son, Bennie Ashley and wife Kim; daughter, Angelia Henderson; two brothers, Billy G. Ashley and Royce Ashley; a sister, Carolyn Short; and two grandchildren, Dustin Ashley and Christopher Henderson.
