Funeral services are being arranged by the Greenlawn Chapel for Private First Class Forrest C. Gess, who was killed in action on Luzon (island in the Philippines) April 7, 1945. He was born in Long Beach, CA and worked for the Shell Oil Co. before entering the service. His widow and daughter live in Bakersfield, CA. Also surviving are his father, Frank Gess and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Baldwin both of Santa Maria.
