Jennefer (Pollio) Woods, Ph.D., 60, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Norton Suburban Hospital. Born on June 8, 1948 in Louisville, KY.

A member of St. James Catholic Church and a professor of education at Spaulding University. She was formerly on the board of directors for Jefferson Co. Teachers Association and also served as a Building Representative. She retired after 22 years from Jefferson County Public Schools after teaching at Wheeler Elementary, Portland Elementary and Waggener Traditional High School and also taught classes at Bellarmine University and Jefferson Community College. Jennefer received her Doctorate of Philosophy in 2008 and was the recipient of the WHAS Excell Award and was also active in Jobs with Justice. Jennefer also had a special interest in genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Pollio and the former Margaret Cash.

She is survived by her husband, son, and brother.

Her Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at St. James Catholic Church, 1826 Edenside Ave., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday.
